Going back in time..,

HI LOVELIES!
I hope you guys had a fun Saturday!

I had lunch at my grandmas house today. Since my parents and sisters live in Brazil, I'm here in the US with just the hubby and some family from my dads side. So when ever i go to my grandmas house i feel a little closer to my mom and dad, does that make any sence? maybe its because my grandma babys me and treats me like im a little girl. For some reason i love that!

We had delicious lunch and after my grandma took a big box out of the closet and started showing me pictures of when my dad was little, and pictures of me when i was baby. Honestly, i got a little emotional, Geez im such a girl!

This is baby me...

My parents, before the best thing that ever happened to them... ME :)

I completely forgot to post the link for the "Vocal 7" show that i told you guys about. I really kicked myself in the behind for forgetting it. Really, it was amazing! they sang beautifully. I really, really loved it.

After it ended, i just went home and watched the old school karate kid.

Tomorrow I'm going to a goodbye/birthday party of a really good friend Becca.

I think i have mentioned before, but her hubby got accepted into the best film school in the country, Its in LA. We will miss them very much. Anyways tomorrow ill post some pictures :)

HAPPY FRIDAY LOVELIES

Color me pretty

Hey guys!
I hope you all had a happy Thursday.
Work was good, i had a great work out session, then went out to eat dinner with the hubby at Olive Gardens.
We had such a nice waiter serving our table. In the end of our meal my husband went to ask him a question and we stayed about 1 hour talking to him.

He told us his life story, how he lived in NY for 15 years, made a lot of money (he was a network engineer) owned a Porsche. One day he decided to move down to FL to retire. He saw that the housing business was good so he invested ALL his money on houses. GUESS WHAT? he lost it ALL! he had 3 business partners and they all killed themselves. He has said his friends didn't want to start over like he was doing. So we told him how strong he is for going through all this and working 2 jobs now. He told us it's also because of his religion. We asked him what religion he was from and he said "Seventh Day Adventist." We were so surprised, were also seventh day Adventist.

We live in such a small world, we usually don't sit and talk to our waiters after dinner but for some reason this time we did. Who knows maybe he needed to open up to someone.

If we stopped being so self centered and took some time to get to know other people we would realize how many people out there needs some one to talk to open up to, or a shoulder to cry on.

I just thought this was an interesting story to share :)

ANYWAYS.. I paint my nails different colors every week. I honestly cant go one week without changing my nail color, and if for some reason i stay a few days without nail polish, my nails look yellowish and they kinda hurt (i'm sure that's a bad thing). People are getting creative with this. Check it out :)

HAPPY FRIDAY!

Nutella&Cheese Calzone

Hey yall!
you'll be happy to know that i have a delicious recipe to share today!

Nutella&Cheese Calzone

Ingredients:
-1/4 cup Mascarpone cheese
-1/4 cup ricotta cheese
-2 tbs powdered sugar
-1 egg yolk
-1 egg
-2 tbs nutella
-2 1/2 heavy cream
-pizza dough

Directions:
In a bowl whisk the mascarpone&ricotta cheese, then add the sugar and egg yolk. Let it settle in the fridge for 30 mins. Now, whisk the heavy cream with the nutella in a separate bowl.

Once the 30 mins has passed, get the pizza dough (i used the pillsbury thin crust pizza dough) and make round circles using a cup, or anything you want.

It's time to assemble the calzone. Add the cheese mixture, and chocolate (dont add too much or else they can come out when it melts in the oven)

Get egg wash and with your finger, put it around the dough to seal it shut, and also on top so you can get a golden color. Put it on a baking sheet. and tranfer it to the oven at 350 degrees for 10-15 mins or until golden.

ENJOY!

Fashionista

Hello Lovelies! Today i was looking through a few magazine and i found out about an event that happened this summer in San Diego called "comic con." Its a four-day event all about comic books, science fiction/fantasy and film/television. I saw amazing actresses wearing some beautiful clothe. And i always love to get some ideas of what colors are in lately and prints. So here are one of my favorite outfits from this event.

Okay, i just have to comment on Nikki Reed's legs (picture on the right) Seriously... WOW, please tell me what i need to do to get legs like those.

I thought Natalie Portman's outfit was "cute" but not appropriate for the event. Looks like shes going out to lunch.

Tuesday, We had Bible study at my inlaws. Of course the whole night was amazing and such a blessing.. But the food? Just amazing. My mother in law is a wonderful cook, but she cant make food for only 5 people, she cooks as if shes feeding a crowd of 5,000 starving people. This time she made rice, beans, farofa (its a brasilian thing, i honestly have no idea how to translate that to english. sorry) and chicken. Good thing cause i was starving! and she made a delicious dessert called "Sagu" its also brasilian.
Its made out of little tapioca balls, grape juice, and lots of fruits, very healthy.

My friend Fe with Bella, the hubby, and that on the bottom is "Sagu."

Movie Critique?

I'm thinking that maybe i should get a job as a movie critique.
No seriously, Most of my weekends I'm either renting a movie or going to the theater to watch a movie. Since were spending so much money with our trip to Brasil, buying his new car, and moving, watching movies is cheap entertainment!

So last night the Hubby wanted to watch "Captain America" and I wanted to watch "Friends with Benefit"
He hated the idea of going and watching the chick flick, but thats what being married is about, right? RIGHT!

Some friends started watching "Friends with Benefit" with us but left in the beggining of the movie. They thought it was too rated R, and honestly, it was. It wasn't the best movie ever but it wasnt the worst either. Have you ever watched "No Strings Attached?" well its the same idea, but Ashton Kutcher it way hotter then Justin Timberlake thats for sure.

Anyways, the story is about This guy who lives in L.A and the girl that lives in NY is trying to recruit him to work for a magazine. She ends up making up his mind, he goes to live there and she becomes his only friend. She also got dumped in the beginning of the movie, and one day they decide to have casual sex but still become friends [hence "friends with benefits] in the end they fall in love with each other, and stay together. Very predictable.

"Captain America" in the other hand was great! My husband was shocked at the fact that i never read the comics, but i still enjoyed it. The movie is during civil was II, about a kid who wanted to get in the army but never got accepted in. One day he decides to try again and luckily one man decides to say "yes" to him. They end up making a experiment on him, to make him strong, and it works. So he ends up saving a bunch of people and gets the girl! well kind of. He ends up driving a big plane that was heading to new york down so it wouldnt kill anyone. And i think thats all i should tell you or else I'll be ruining it for you all. SORRY!

Okay... Maybe Movie Critique wouldnt be the best job for me. hahhaa

My day was pretty busy. I worked, went to school, gym with the hubby, and made PIZZA!
Okay... I didnt make the dough but i put the sauce, cheese and toppings :) I put tomatoes, Onions, Oregano and a little bit of garlic powder. The hubby was happy and so was my clean kitchen!

Go shopping

Hanging out with my friends today. Went to the mall, had lunch. It's funny how when your not planning on buying anything you end up being the only one who comes out with your hands full.

My friends are in a singing group called "Vocal 7" and they will be having a show in our church Saturday night. I'm pretty sure they will show it live on the website. But I'll check on that and let you all know. So today we went to buy an outit for the girls to wear. We traveled 40 mins to the Wellington Mall and they found NOTHING! in the other hand I got  jeans, Leggings, and flip-flops. Hehe :]

Shopping is like therapy. It always makes us feel a little better!

Change...

Change. That's such a strong word. What makes it so strong?
Why are we so scared of change? The first thing that comes to mind when I hear the word change Is me doing something i don't like.

Tonight Was a scary night for me. I got faced with the fact that I need to CHANGE. That word can be stronger for some people more than others, for me it Is so strong that it brings tears to my eyes every time i think about it. While I'm writing this post I'm also trying to dig deep within me to figure out why.

I've never really pushed myself into doing anything really. My parents have always accepted me The way I am. I've always liked planning parties and cooking, I've always been told how creative i am. I guess I just always thought that was enough. It was enough to define who I am and I'm happy with that. But when you get married to someone thats completely and I really mean COMPLETELY different then you are, being creative and liking to cook sometimes just isn't enough. Tonight when I was asked to CHANGE I took it pretty bad. I know he wasn't asking me to do something bad, this change was for me too. No I'm not the healthiest person in the world or the skinniest, I don't have a models body and I'm sure as hell not as smart as Einstein was. But I'm not obese and I'm not dumb. Isn't that enough? Well I guess sometimes it isn't. What I was told yesterday is that I need to become "healthy and get in shape". Now I just felt as if he was trying to change ME, Camylla. When he kept telling me that he just wants to "improve" Camylla. Can change sometimes be good? Why am I having such a hard time agreeing to change? I guess the answer is...

I feel like I've given in so much, It's like what else do you want from me?  I just feel like I'm not enough and he's just trying to change ME and making me become what HE wants me to be... But I'm happy with me...
I guess this is where Love comes in the story.

COULD THIS BE TRUE?

Theirs one song that has been in my mind all day long. And i just felt like sharing it with you guys.
Manifesto by The City Harmonic, see the video here.

Saturday Lunch

Sabbath for me is all about. God, family, friends and good FOOD. This morning we went to church and had lunch with my inlaws at my friend Leo's moms house.

The lunch was amazing. It had everything from the appetizer to the salad, main course, desert, and the afternoon tea with yogurt cake. Yumm

I really hope everyone has one day of the week to just relax and spend with family. When life is all about work, it becomes meaningless. So make the best of your day OFF!

A little place called home

When i blogged about posting some pictures of my current apartment i kind of regretted afterwards. It's just that i LOVE interior design and honestly my apartment lacks some style, but thats what lack of money and time does. PLUS my husband who was NOT helpful at all when we moved in here didnt make the situation any better either. he kept saying "we are renting this apartment, whats the point of painting the walls and making wholes in it if its not ours. Why do we need to do the work twice? when its our place we can spend all the money in the world to decorate it just how you want it... blah blah blah." Yeah i know he makes some sense. But we lived here for 2 years, and i cant remember taking not even 1 picture of it. So im happy i took these and i can remember the good old days when we had no money to buy anything :)

My tiny little bathroom :) This wall has all the pictures from our wedding and hubbies guitars, unfortunately we have no where else to put them.
 =
That table was given to us by my inlaws. I am Oh so grateful for it, i just wish i liked it :/  OHH and let me introduce you to on more member of my family, Timmy also known as "the green" hes our bird. We bought him the first week of being married, so he's been accompanying us from the beginning of our married life. He has watched us grow in every aspect. Financially, Emotionally, and Spiritually. I must confess, at first i hated the bird. But now, our life wouldn't be the same without him. One thing i still dont like, is how he's in the middle of my dining room!

And... I figured it out

Yayy I finally figured out how to post through my phone. It took me a while, but I'm just glad that now i know how :) I'll be posting a lot more pictures, I dont know if it a good thing or bad but oh well!
I'm already at work.. but SO HAPPY ITS FRIDAY!... Enjoy your day everyone

Looking forward to the little things

I got to thinking, life is so boring. Honestly to live a happy life you need to always be distracting yourself or looking forward to a fun trip, the hollidays or a special event. When ever i wake up like i did today i just try to remember my reason for living in this boring world and my purpose here. But there isnt much in life to look forward to, so we need to look forward and appreciate the silliest little things.

So what i am currently looking forward to is my Saturday [ofcourse] and the fact that i'm finally moving out of my tiny 1 bedroom apartment and into my 2 bedroom. I even forget the fact that i need to paint my apartment back to white... Ugh i decided to paint my apartment every single color of the freakin rainbow! so now i have a lot of work to do painting it back to white!

But i didnt learn my lesson, because im coloring my new apartment again! hehhe

Okay so like i said before, I want my apartment to be "Contemporary Chic" so these are some living rooms that inspire me. Watcha think??

Say WHAT!? I love that coffee table, that giant ceiling light, that beautiful green arrangement, that wooden wall. just WOW
Look at the coffee table with the fire pit in the middle. Genius!
Really like the round mirror, and the vases!
 LOVE the cool colors.

Tomorrow is cleaning day at my house. So after my apartment is nice and tidy i will take a few pictures to show you guys what it currently looks like, then after i move and decorate it exactly how i want it ill post new pics! :)
Hope these beautiful living room inspired you as well!

TIE DYE

HOWDIE! :)

so yesterday i spent 4 hrs at the hair salon. I decided to be a brave little cookie and do something DIFFERENT!
I was thinking. I will only be 20 once, if theirs a special time to do something different it is now!

HERE IT IS!! Sorry i didnt have a better picture, but its kind of hard taking a picture of yourself :/

NO i'm not completely insane, this is temporary. It will eventually come off with wash in about 1 to 2 weeks..

So here is where i got the idea from, and how you can do it.

I should add one thing. Its more complicated then it looks.

Cajun Chicken Alfredo

Whenever I'm not in the mood to spend hours in the kitchen i make this recipe. My friends love it, my family loves it, and so does my hubby. Its delicious and EASY!

The recipe i made on sunday only required 2 chicken breasts, but if you need to make more just double the blackening spice.
-2 chicken breasts
-blackening spice
Recipe:
-1 tbs salt
-1 1/2 tbs of paprika
-1 tbs garlic powder
-1 tbs onion powder
-1 tbs dried thyme
-1 tsp ground black pepper
-1 tsp cayenne pepper
-1 tsp dried basil
-1 tsp dried oregano

Rub the spice on the chicken and be GENEROUS!

Grill the chicken.
And put it in the oven at 375 degrees until fully cooked.

While the chicken in cooking in the oven, lets make the sauce!

Recipe:
-2 tbs of olive oil
-3 tbs of minced garlic
-1/2 cup chopped marinated sun-dried tomatoes
-1/4 cup white wine
-3 cups heavy cream
-3/4 cup grated parmesan
-1 tsp salt
-1 tsp black pepper
-1 box cooked pasta
-1 large red pepper

First, caramelize the garlic then add the dried tomatoes.

now add the peppers and let it cook for 3-4 mins. Cut the chicken and add it to pan.
Deglaze the pan wit the white wine.
add the heavy cream, cover it and let it simmer until it reduces to half, add the parmesan cheese then the pasta.
