Braided Bread

Hi Pretties!!!

My parents are leaving in 4 days and I couldnt be more upset, It's so nice to come home and see them. It's going to feel so empty once they leave :( I need kids, like lots of them! {hehe}

In Brazil having mades isnt a big deal, almost everyone has one, and since my parents are used to waking up and having breakfast ready in the table with warm fresh bread, freshly brewed coffee. I decided to make a bread thats very famous in my family, my grandma and my aunt have been making it ever since I can remember and I tried it for the very first time this week. It came out so delicious and I cant wait to keep the tradition going.

You'll be surprised in how easy it is to make, but its just SOOOO good!

Braided Bread:

Ingredients:

1. 1 cup milk
2. 2 1/2 cup water
3. 3 packages of active dry yeast
4. 1 cup of sugar
5. 1/2 cup of oil
6. 3 eggs
7. 1 tsp of salt
8. around 7 cups of all purpose flower

Directions:

Warm up your milk and water {not hot, just warm}
Now put it in a bowl and add the dry yeast

Mix it together and let it rest while you mix the rest of the ingredients in the blender.

In the blender add the oil, sugar

Add your eggs

Blend it all together

Add the egg mixture with the water and milk mixture.

Start adding your flower

Keep mixing it

Until its a thick mixture

Now start mixing it with a wooden spoon until you cant anymore... flour your counter, and turn your batter into the counter, start mixing it with your hands... It could be more then 7 cups of flour, the batter needs to be to the point where it doesnt stick to your hands, but its not too heavy. It should be really light.

Knead your dough

Put the dough back in the bowl and let it rest for at least 45 mins

The dough is going to double its size

This recipe will make 4 loafs of bread. So divide the dough into 4 equal parts

Now divide one of them into 3 parts

Roll it out

Time to start putting the braid together... Repeat this step with the other 3 pieces of dough

Put the dough in the baking sheet and let it rest of at least 45 more mins...

until it doubles its size

Spread some oil on top of the bread, so it could give a golden brown color.
Put the bread in a 350d oven for 45 mins to 1 hr.
While the bread is on the oven, lets make the sugar syrup that goes over it.
Add 1 cup of sugar and 1 cup water in a bowl

As soon as the bread comes out of the oven drizzle all that glaze over it. The bread will suck all that yummy goodness in and make it so soft and yummy.

We love eating it with cream cheese, or just yummy butter!
I hope you enjoyed this easy delicious recipe, and make sure you try it at home!!
