Cool colors...

Hey Guys! South florida's weather has been so depressing lately. Next to my desk at work there is a big window and i hear the rain pouring outside i just want to lay down under my convers eat popcorn with nutella while watching sex in the city! hahhaha

So my week has been a little depressing not only because of the weather but dieting just sucks! i realized that food is just such a big part of our lives. Food can change our mood, can change how our day is going... .
For example:
When your sad what do you want to do? EAT
When your happy what do you do? EAT
When your bored what do you do? EAT
Why does our life revolve around food? why does food effect our mood? ugh i hate. All i know is that when ever im on a diet i get extremely moody.

Now I'm not starving myself, I'm only eating healthy. Like today my husband had 4 hot dogs for dinner, and what i had was half of a cooked potato some steamed broccoli and 1 egg. He tells me that I'm trying to lose weight the wrong way. He says that i can eat what ever i want if i just work out. I truly don't believe that. Yes i would love to sit my butt on the couch and eat a whole box of cookies like he does then just go to the gym the next day and burn off the calories. But if Im trying to lose weight i need to watch what i eat AND work out. I must confess i have a gym membership and i have not been to the gym in over 1 month. But i think that just eating healthy and small portions will help me lose weight. The only reason i want to go to the gym is only to be healthier but not because i believe that in order to lose weight i must workout, I do agree that working out helps the process of losing weight. But its not always necessary.

  • Daily Finds: I love cool color pallets. That is actually what color i have in my apartment right now. Its so cozy and chic. I just always like how the browns and blues go together.

Vegan Strawberry Cupcakes anyone?

I think i might go insane if i dont leave florida soon!. Im serious i havent gone on a trip in FOREVER! okay i lied i went to Orlando last month, but i dont count that as trip because i didnt leave florida. The hubby and i were planning to take a roadtrip with our friends Beca and Mikey to california, but we recently realized that we cant afford to go :(

Im going to spend Christmas and New Years in Brazil this year which means i need to pay for my plane tickets. $1,300 EACH! can you belive it? Thats a lot of money and since were going in the hollidays we have a list of people we need to buy gifts for. I think every month i need to buy some so its not too hard on our pockets.

In August we need to buy a new car for the hubby. Now we live right in front of his job, so he can usually walk there but when we move he will need a car to get around.. On top of all that i want new furniture and we have to pay for his school!... So you see where we cant afford to spend $2,000 on a roadtrip right now.
But what i am trying to do is find some cheap packages for Vegas to celebrate my 21st birthday. My birthday is September 12, so we have some time so save up

Once upon a time my friend Delfina introduced me to a delicious strawberry vegan cupcake, I loved it! and ever since then i have made it many times... So i decided to share this awesome easy delicious recipe with you guys. I know sometimes the word VEGAN scares us but i promise you there is no eggs but it tastes amazing!.

-1 3/4 cups of all purpose flour
-1 cup of sugar

-14 strawberries
-1tbs of vinegar

-1/2 cup of oil
-1 tsp of vanilla
-1 tbs of baking soda

-Turn the oven on to 350 f.
-cut the stem off the strawberries.

-Blend the strawberries in a blender.

-In a bowl add the sugar, flour, and baking powder.

-In a different bowl add the wet ingredients (Oil, vinegar and vanilla)

-add the liquids to the dry ingredients.

- Mix it well... And now grease the cupcake pan and put on the oven for 20-30 mins.

-I made a very simple cream cheese toping for this cupcake. I added to a bowl 1/2 cup of cream cheese and 3tbs of powdered sugar..

Love to experiment!

  • Words of the day:
Do not merely look out for your own personal interests, but also for the interest of others.-Philippians 2:4

  • Love Dare: day 12. Love lets the other win.
Today's dare: Demonstrate love by willingly choosing to give in to an area of disagreement between you and your spouse. Tell them you are putting their preference first.
I hope everyone had an awesome weekend! My weekend was really chill...
On saturday the hubby and i stayed home sulking all day. Then at night we went to olive gardens to celebrate My cousins birthday and stayed talking outside with our friends for at least 2hrs.. Since we dont see each other all week we always have so much to catch up on the weekends.
yesterday I edited photos all morning and in the afternoon we had lunch at chillis then watched cars 2 and Bad Teacher.
Now here comes the movie critique hehehe... So cars 2 was awesome! very good movie, very funny and i would totally go watch it again... actually i might take my little cousin to see it next weekend,.
Bad teacher kind of sucked! the story was of boring and their wasnt really a climax to the story.. So kind of boring wouldnt really recommend it..

I love to experience with food and i know i have not posted any new recipes yet but i dont have time to cook!.
Today i decided to make some dinner...
I had really nice big chicken breasts and a delicious recipe idea immedietly came to mind. I started cutting  garlic, onions then i saw some fresh thyme in my fridge so i got that then i got butter and i have some beautiful oranges. So this is what i did...
I washed the chichen with lime then started to season the chicken.
added salt, paprika(for some color) basil and oregano.
then i cut up some onions and garlic and put it to cook slowly in another pan with lots of butter.
when the chicken had nice grill marks on it, i put the cooked onions and garlic on top of the chicken and squizzed 1 orange. Then i added some fresh thyme on top and put it on the oven to cook slowly...
IT TASTED AMAZING! and looked it too.. So i took a picture :) YUMMM
Tips: If you try to make it at home, make sure you cover then chicken once you put it on the oven with foil
and the juice that comes out of the chicken you can drizzle on top of the chicken when you serve.

I have been trying to eat only protein and raw green veggies! It's so hard! but i survived the weekend and thats the hardest part. I ate that chicken with steamed brocolli and it was an amazing dinner!

ANYWAYS... I found some new ideas for my dining room. Want to see? Yay!
I know, i know it kind of looks like the other ones i posted but its not the same ones. These i found at

New home...

  • Words of the day:
Husbands ought also to love their own wives as their own bodies.- Ephesians 5:28
  • Love dare: day 11. Love cherishes.
Whenever a husband looks into the eyes of his wife, he should remember that "he who loves his wife loves himself." And a wife should remember that when she loves him, she is also giving love and honor to herself.
Today's dare: What need does your spouse have that you could meet today? Can you run an errand? Give a back rub or foot massage? Is there housework you could help with? choose a gesture that says, "I cherish you" and do it with a smile.
I'm moving in 2 months and i couldnt be more excited!! we have been in a 1 bedroom apartment for almost 3 years now and i cant wait to go into a 2 bedroom! now i have so many ideas for the second bedroom! i dont know if i should make an office and put a sofa that turns into a bed or i could put a full bed and just a small desk for my computer and printer or i could do 2 small beds and a desk.
So i made a list of things im going to need for my new apt. First thing is first, my parents in law gave us a round table with chairs. It's really nice, but not our style. Actually let me inform you that my husband and i have COMPLETELY different taste in furniture. He likes big dark wood (Really traditional) and i like sleek and modern in order to meet each other half way we need to find something contemporary (sleek and modern but still confy and cozy). So back to what i was saying. The table is my husbands style but not really mines. My plan is to sell my table and chairs and get new ones.
The main look i want for my apartment i guess i could call it... Contemporary Chic!

Here are a few tables that i found and really like. I think the glass is more modern. But the wood could be more contemporary. My favorite is the wood table in the right side on the first picture

Here are my options for chairs. I had an idea in my head that the 2 end chairs would have a print and the other 4 would be just one color but i cant find any nice printed chairs.

So i like this... The blue chair on the left would be the end table chairs. Im not too sure about the beige color in the other chair.
I also like this one. But i dont know if all 6 chairs would be this chair or only the end chairs. And im not too sure about the color either.

I'm not in love with this. But it's alright.

Chandeliers!... Actually i only found this one that i liked.

For centerpieces:

This is such a cute idea. really like!

This looks kind of medieval.. But i LOVE!

Time to get in shape!

  • Words of the day:
God demonstrates his own love toward us, in that while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.- Romans 5:8
  • Love Dare: day 10. Love is unconditional.
If someone were to ask you, " why do you love your spouse?" -what would you say?
Today's Dare: Do something out of the ordinary today for your spouse-something that proves (to you and to them) that your love is based on your choice and nothing else. Wash her car, clean the kitchen, buy his favorite dessert, fold the laundry. Demonstrate love to them for the sheer joy of being their partner.

I have been so lazy lately. I dont know, i think what the problem is that im not managing my time correctly. I need to start working out again, i need to start cooking again... I love to cook! and i love posting recipes but i dont have time.

Monday: work from 9-5 then school 6-8 (after that i just want to relax and watch tv with the hubby)
Tuesday: work from 9-5 then bible study at my inlaws from 7:30-10
Wednesday: work from 9-5 then school 6-8 (after i have to do lauundry)
Thursday: work from 9-5 then girls night 8-11(work on laundry some more)
Friday: work from 9-5 then i clean for my house and prepare for the sabbath!

Then on top of all that i need to find time to study for tests and to do my home work. So you tell me when do i have time to cook or go to the gym? Is it poor time management? lazyness? or i really just dont have time. I dont know. But what i do know... I need to make time for the gym... I'm gaining weight like crazy while my hubby is super dedicated in the gym!... One thing is for sure. I will not be the fat wife!

  • Daily Finds: So in that note Here are a few exercises to do at home. There are four level do this exercise, after the 20 days are over. I'll post the next level.

CONTOUR tutorial

  • Words of the day:
Greet one another with a kiss of love.-1 Peter 5:14

  •  Love Dare:

You've covered some serious ground so far in this journey. learning to demonstrate aspects of love like patience, kindness, and encouragement are not always easy but are certainly crucial to a healthy relationship.

Today's dare: Think of a specific way you'd like to greet your spouse today. Do it with a smile and with enthusiasm. Then determine to change your greeting to reflect your love for them.
I like this dare. I remember recently complaining to my hubby that he answers the phone as if he doesnt want to talk to me. So i cant wait to be greeted with some excitement now! lol

So posting new things every day might be a little harder then i thought.  I know im extremely interesting. But sometimes i run out of things to talk about. I'm not going to sit here and talk about how my day was at work and how i have homework to do.. I promise not to torture you with all that. Thats why i got my hubby :).
  • Daily Finds: I found this really cool make up tutorial. Enjoy :)

Sponge or Foundation Brush
Bronzing Powder or Cream Bronzer
Flat-headed Bronzing Brush
1. Apply foundation all over and neck with a sponge, foundation brush or fingers.
2. Look in the mirror and suck in your cheeks. This will instantly show you exactly where your cheekbones are. Sweep bronzing powder/cream bronzer with a flat-headed bronzer brush just slightly under cheekbones from the hollows to your ear.
3. Sweep bronzer in circular motions directly on temples.
4. Contour along the hairline
5. Contour directly underneath the jawline
6. Blend edges with a sponge

Nail polish Summer Trends!

  • Words of the day:
Love is as strong as death, it's jealousy unyielding as the grave. It burns like blazing fire. -Song of Solomon 8:6 NIV

  • Love Dare:

Jealousy is one of the strongest drives known to man. It comes from the root word for zeal and means " to burn with an intense fire." The scripture pointedly says, "Wrath is fierce and anger is a flood, but who can stand before jealousy?" (Proverbs 27:4).
On yesterdays dare it told us to call our spouse and thank them for one of the qualities they have. So yesterday the hubby called me and thanked me for being so good with our finances. I know normally the man of the house pays all the bills and handles all the finances but i love to do it, and I'm damn good at it!.. So i thanked him for making me feel safe. there is no one i feel safer with then my hubby!  And i think that is very important for a woman to feel safe with shes with a man.

Today's Dare: Determine to become your spouse's biggest fan and to reject any thoughts of jealousy. To help you set your heart on your spouse and focus on their achievements, take yesterday's list of negative attributes and discreetly burn it. Then share with your spouse how glad you are about a success he or she recently enjoyed.

FINALLLYYYY!!... I did groceries after 3 weeks! No, no my husband is not starving to death! his mom makes lunch for him everyday, yep i am a very lucky gal!
I hate shopping at walmart. Its so big, and the fruits and veggies suck and its dirty... So what i do is, i shop for fruits and veggies at whole foods (its a little pricy but its so worth it!) and i do the rest of the shopping at target. But unfortunately i had to shop at walmart :(... They say that walmart is cheaper but i really dont see a difference in prices. Target has some amazing prices, the only downfall is that they have a little bit of everything! so you never get out of there with just groceries and end up spending $200 instead of $100.. now im not saying that thats my case.. But it happens.

I also went to my favorite place... The library! when i go there i get lost in all the books and i want to buy all of them but i dont have the money so i always leave heart broken! lol. But i got a really good book from the Edilien Family. You see the book thats on the top right hand corner of my page "Days of Gold" thats the second book, so i need to go back and read the first one called "Scarlet Knights" I love romance novels. Like seriously im obssesed! i read "Days of gold" in 2 days! i just get so into the book that i dont want to stop. I love every type of books, I'll make sure to post about all my favorite books one day.

Happy Monday?

  • Words of the day:
[love] believes all things.-1 Corinthians 13:7

  • Love Dare: day 7 love believes the best.
In the deep and private corridors of your heart, there is a room. It's called the appreciation room. It's where your thoughts go when you encounter positive and encouraging things about your spouse. And every so often, you enjoy visiting this special place.
Today's dare: get two sheets of paper. On the first sheet, spend a few minutes writing out positive things about your spouse. Then do the same with negative things on the second sheet. Place both sheets in a secret place for another day. There is a different purpose and plan for each. At some point during the remainder of the day, pick a positive attribute from the first list and thank your spouse for having this characteristic.

Yesterday i watched 2 farely good movies, green lantern and super 8. For some reason it's very hard for me to say "wow that was a great movie." it's like lately they ran out of stories to tell., cause somehow i always know the ending. So yesterday i went shopping after what it seems like forever... well actually im not sure i would consider what i did yesterday shopping. I went to the mall to buy 1 bra, Victorias secret is having a really big sale and i got 1 bra for $24.99 i thought that was really good! and i only had 30 mins to shop because the movie was about to start and the hubby was waiting in the car i hate shopping under pressure! actually no! i have just decided what i did yesterday was NOT shopping, which means i can still nag about how i havent gone shopping in forever! lol
I think we would all agree that mondays is not our favorite day of the week, even though i do like monday nights "me time" but i hate mornings. It means we have to wake up to reality. I wish i could sit my butt in the couch all day and watch sex in the city while eating nutella with popcorn! OMG i could soooo do that all day everyday!.. I swear i would take a week off of work just so i could watch every season of sex in the city and friends! and gain maybe 5 pounds! lol

  • Daily Finds:  I love neutrals! and one color that i found that looks great with a nude color is peach!. look how awesome these looks are!

  • Words of the day:

He who is slow to anger is better than the mighty, and he who rules his spirit, than he who captures a city. -Proverbs 16:32
Love is hard to offend and quick to forgive. How easily do you get irritated and offended? Some people have the motto, "Never pass up an opportunity to get upset with your spouse." When something goes wrong, they quickly take full advantage of it by expressing how hurt or frustrated they are. But this is the opposite reaction of love.
Today's dare: choose today to react to tough circumstances in your marriage in loving ways instead of with irritation. Begin by making a list of areas you need to add margin to your schedule. Then list any wrong motivations that you need to release from your life.
I must admit i like the buying each other stuff part way better. But I need to start thinking of where i need to start adding margins. And its pretty sad for me to admit to this. But i did kinda sorta enjoyed when my hubby did something uncool. Because i would be all cold to his side and he would be the one trying to make me stop being mad. Admit it, you like it too!

So yesterday was a pretty chill day for me. The hubby and I had a very tiring week so we decided to stay home and not go to church. So we got those extra hrs of sleep that we needed. And why are men so hard headed? Renan (my husband) wanted to make bananas with this protein that he bought and oatmeal and honey. So I thought that sounds yummy I want some too. But we only had 3 bananas (i haven't gone grocery shopping in 2 weeks)I felt bad so I said okay just give half of 1 well he almost had a fit! He said that 2 1/2 bananas would not be enough to make what he wanted. To make a long story shot after maybe 30 mins of me trying to convince him that half of a banana would not make a difference turns out I was right!
Then we were going to eat at my inlaws but we decided to have lunch at home. Well remember i said I haven't done groceries in 2 weeks? I lied. I think it was maybe 3 or a month! Yea lately I haven't been home so I don't have time to make food! So yesterday when I actually needed to make lunch all my ingredients were like expiring. Then I finally found 1 box of pasta and a ragu that would expire today! So yess!! Lol I ended up making a tasty pasta with spinach that the hubby loved! Then later at night we had game night at my friend Fe's house. Okay so I'm in love with Costco pizza!! Fe bought this box that comes 4 cheese pizza for $10 and it's delicious! The perfect amount of sauce and cheese. So to spice it up a little we added some onions, tomatoes and oregano! Soo good! I played the board game cash flow for the first time yesterday and it was pretty cool. I definitaly like it better then monopoly! So yeah guys that was my sat! Went to bed at 2:30 am and today I'm going to the beach to celebrate fathers day with my hubby's dad!
I'm really sad my dad isn't here but let me not get into that. A nice book the ocean breeze and Brazilian BBQ! Nothing better then that!

  • Daily Finds:
LETS DIY this lovely sunday!... I am a very hands on person, if i want something done i wont wait on anyone. When i got married and moved to my apartment i painted the whole thing by myself well in the end i had some help from my friend Fe and my brother in law. But i just dont wait around for people to feel like helping me by the time they offer me a hand, i have already done it.
I am thinking of making this mirror for my bathroom. Learn how to make this awesome mirror here.

I am all up for saving money when it comes to gift wrapping, specially in the holidays, It seems that we end up spending more money on gift wrappers then on the actual gifts. The past 2 Christmas i wrapped all my gifts in newspaper and put a nice big red bow on it. Everyone loved it and i could tell mines apart from the hundreds of gifts under my grandmas tree. Now i never made a gift bag out of newspaper but i sure will try!

How cute are these bracelets? made out of popsicle sticks

This doily lamp looks really easy to make. I wonder how easy it really is.. You can make the same thing but with yarn. You put a little bit of water in your glue, and dip the yarn in it. Then just go around in a balloon leaving an opening at the top and let it dry. I love it!

  • Words of the day:
Remember to observe the sabbath day by keeping it holy. You have six days each week for ordinary work, but the seventh day is a sabbath day of rest dedicated to the Lord y our God.
Happy, Happy Sabbath!!
I grew up being seventh day adventist. And boy i am just so thankful that my Lord thinks of every little detail. He remembered that we are only human and we need a day to rest, a day to forget about work, to forget about worries or troubles and so he gave us the saturday to worship him, to relax and just admire all the beautiful things that he has created. I look forward to saturdays every week.
If you work on saturdays try taking one saturday off and go to church, or read your bible, you could take a walk on the beach with your family and just feel the breeze, have a picnick in the park and look at all the trees and the beautiful flowers.
On saturdays my mom would wake up early and put gospel songs on and would wake me and my sisters up. we would do our hair all pretty, put on our nicest dresses have breakfast and go to church. After church we would either go have lunch at our house and invite friends and family over or we would eat at our families house and saturday lunch were the best! then after lunch my parents would make us all take an afternoon nap in the room with them and we would make tents with the blackets and pretend were camping. It was so much fun! so i dont know how my life would have been if a saturday was just another day of the week. Now that i am married my husband and i do the same morning routine. Wake up put on our nicest clothe on, have breakfast and go to church. after we usually either have lunch at my inlaws house or we invite friends over my place for lunch. On the afternoon we take an awesome nap. And just enjoy a nice conversation with our friends.
I just cant wait when we have our little pumpkins so i can do with them the same thing my parents did with me.
If you happen to be looking for a church to go to, send me an email and i can help you find one near you.

  • Love Dare: Love is not rude.
Nothing irritates others as quickly as being rude. rudeness is unnecessary saying or doing things that are unpleasant for another person to be around.
Today's Dare: ask your spouse to tell you three things that cause him or her to be uncomfortable or irritated with you. You must do so without attacking them or justifying your behavior. This is from their perspective only

  • Daily Finds:
