Brick+Gold+Chevron= PERFECTION

Hello Lovelies!

I figured its been a while since I've updated you in the progress of decorating our new home. I wont be showing you any pictures of my actuall home because its not ready yet, but I'll kind of show you what its like now.

Yesterday we finished with the brick wall behind our couch! I love it, love it, love it.. It was a lot more work then we thought, but in the end we couldnt stop staring.

So that wall is done. Now all were missing is a great big picture canvas.
Since i'm painting my walls gray I decided I wanted a black and white picture.... Now a picture of what?
The hubby busts out with a picture of a ferrari.. UMMMM..... NO THANKS! He is still insisting on it, but he'll get over it.

So I decided I wanted something Industrial looking. So pictures of buildings. I automatically thought of New York. Searched and searched but nothing. I thought it was a bit too cold for me, but I still liked the idea of buildings but I wanted something more romantic sort of... So what came to mind? PARIS, ITALY, IRELAND, PRAGUE, VENICE.... and so on... All of Europe is just awesome...

But to be honest, I still have not found the perfect one.

I have many rules to the perfect picture. 1. I need to be able to purchase it, I cant just get it off the internet. Because first, I'm pretty sure thats illegal, and second, I'm going to need to print this in a BIG canvas so the quality needs to be good.
2. It has to be vertical and not horizontal. I want the wall to seem bigger, so I think vertical is the way to go.
OKay, fine. 2 rules...

I found some pretty cool websites...
BeckerMan Photo {he has amazing pictures of NYC available for purchase}
Great BIG Canvas {You can print out your own personal pictures in any size canvas}
123 RF {more awesome pictures of everything}

So here is what I have found so far. And if you think you know just the picture for me... Please let me know :)

Oh, and I would Love to know which one is your favorite :)

Thats my idea for one wall. The wall behind my TV I still have no Idea what I'm going to do with it.

So lets jump over to the big sliding door. What I had in mind was a thick chevron print curtain to bring out the chevron wall that will be in the dining room. But I couldnt find any that I liked, and the ones I did like were around $150 to $250 and I refuse to pay that amount of money in a curtain.
To my luck, I found a tutorial in how to make your own chevron print!

Kristen at KFD Designs made this for her living room. Genius! Mines will have one more chevron print on the bottom. So it will be a total of 3. And I want to paint mines gold since that will be the accent color in my apartment.

  8. I'd vote for picture 1 or 4...I think they have the best mix of dramatic and softness, so you won't get sick of looking at it after a few weeks.

    And I love what you're doing with your place, sounds great!! I'm also a big fan of brick walls, chevron print and gold...that last photo is going on my pinterest :)
