Losing Hope- Book Review

Hello Lovelies!

Happy Monday... Not.

JK, it is a very happy day because were alive and breathing right? The sun is shining, the birds are singing and you're probably extremely annoyed at my cheeriness and I'm honestly annoyed at myself because I'm obviously exaggerating a bit trying to cheer myself up for a brand new spanking work week.

So, what better way to cheer me up than to review one of my favorite books.

Last week I reviewed Sky's story in 'Hopeless' by Colleen Hoover this week I will review Holder's story in 'Losing Hope' which was recently released this month and its book #2 .

 Losing Hope by Colleen Hoover

 O.M. MOTHER FREAKIN G.
This book was really, really GREAT! 6 stars!!

Prologue

"  In Hopeless, Sky left no secret unearthed, no feeling unshared and no memory forgotten, but Holder's past remains a mystery.

He is haunted by the little girl he let walk away from him and he has spent his entire life searching for her. He had hoped that he would finally gain closure and be able to rid himself of his guilt the moment they were reconnected. But he could not have anticipated that the exact opposite would occur and even more guilt and regret would be thrust upon him.

Sometimes in life, if we wish to move forward we must first dig deep into our past and make amends with it. In Losing Hope, readers will learn what was going on inside Holder's head during all those moments that left him feeling hopeless and see whether he can perhaps gain the peace he desperately needs.  "

I might have possibly liked this one a tad bit more than 'Hopeless'

Holder, Holder, Holder... Hold me, Holder. Good thing my husband isn't jealous of fictional characters or I'd be in trouble.

All the times that I imagined what was going on through Holder's mind when reading 'Hopeless' came nowhere near the intensity of his thoughts.

"I let everything i'm seeing sink in because this is what I want to remember the most. I want to remember exactly what she looks like the second she hands over a piece of her heart."

SWOON, SWOON, SWOON!

Have I mentioned that Colleen Hoover is a genius? Well, she is! her writing is inspirational!

One of the reasons why I loved this book so much was because I already went through the motions with 'Hopeless' I knew what every single special moment meant for Sky now add Holder's powerful thoughts and intense words and you have EVERYTHING!

" Every kiss, every movement, every moan, every touch of her hand against my skin.
She's my saving grace.
She's my Hope. "

This is Holder's story not Hopeless in Holder's point of view. This book talks about what he went through with his sister, when he lost hope, the struggles he went through after the tragedy.

"  I continue to hold her and she continues to hold on to me because it's nice to be able to find solace in such an ugly, lonely situation.  "

I didn't just read the book, I felt Every. Single. Emotion. I lived it.

My heart broke for the little boy.
I got goosebumps when he went all "swoon" on Sky.
I got butterflies when he became his smart and cocky "panty dropping" self.

I will read this book and Hopeless again one after the next as slowly as possible. But I need to recuperate from the emotional roller coaster that it took me through.

This book is raw, powerful heartfelt emotion. So, so beautiful and moving.

From losing Hope, to finding Hope in the end I felt closure and there ain't no better feeling than when two people you care about have a happy ending and as strange as it may sound I fell in love with this couple and I'll probably never forget them.

  1. I'm waiting for the paperback to come out, so I haven't indulged yet. I wasn't super in love with Hopeless so I have high hopes for Holder's version!
