If you are looking for an easy and enjoyable read, this book is it.
The story line is so interesting and so unpredictable that it sucks you in. Collen's writing just flows through the pages, and you can do nothing but read along turning page after page without as much as blinking.
You cant help but to fall in love with the characters and roll with the emotions that the book throws your way.
Prologue
" Sometimes discovering the truth can leave you more hopeless than believing the lies…
That’s what seventeen-year-old Sky realizes after she meets Dean Holder. A guy with a reputation that rivals her own and an uncanny ability to invoke feelings in her she’s never had before. He terrifies her and captivates her all in the span of just one encounter, and something about the way he makes her feel sparks buried memories from a past that she wishes could just stay buried.
Sky struggles to keep him at a distance knowing he’s nothing but trouble, but Holder insists on learning everything about her. After finally caving to his unwavering pursuit, Sky soon finds that Holder isn’t at all who he’s been claiming to be. When the secrets he’s been keeping are finally revealed, every single facet of Sky’s life will change forever. "

After finally caving to his unwavering pursuit, Sky soon finds that Holder isn’t at all who he’s been claiming to be. When the secrets he’s been keeping are finally revealed, every single facet of Sky’s life will change forever. "
Sky is a 17 year old girl who has been home schooled her whole life and is going to highschool for the first time her senior year. Sky has some emotional issues, she has never liked or felt anything for any guy until Holder comes in the picture.
" As soon as I lay eyes on him, I immediately notice three things:
1) His amazingly perfect white teeth hidden behind that seductively crooked grin.
2) The dimples that form in the crevices between the corner of his lips and cheeks when he smiles.
3) I'm pretty sure I'm having a hot flash. Or I have butterflies. Or maybe I'm coming down with a stomach virus."
But Holder's intense personality, mood swings and obvious strong attration to her scares the living crap out of her yet, she cant stay away.
I loved watching their relationship grow into something undeniably special. The dialogue and back and forth banter was highly entertaining and it flowed beautifully.
"The only thing I'm certain about right now is that after this moment, I will never be the same. I know by the way his existence is like a magnetic pull on my heart, that if he ever hurts me again, I'll be far from just fine. I'll be broken."
Holder is mysterious and Sky wasn't the only one curious about him, I was turning page after page hoping to learn more about this mysterious guy.
This book was a constant emotional rollercoaster.
Expect to cry, be red with anger, and laugh of joy.
The big reveal was shocking!
The way Sky and Holder handled the serious situation and the unforunate events that occured to them was impressive and is it weird that I felt kind of proud of Holder? Yeah, it's weird. Forget I said that!
Curious yet? Well, you'll just have to read it.
Again, this is a very easy read.
It really bothers me when people judge a book by how simple the writing is, some people even grade the book "Oh, this is 3rd grade stuff". I believe there are different styles of writing for different genres. I didnt open Hopeless expecting to find Shakespear. I got the book because I was in the mood for something light, refreshing and fun and thats exactly what I got. So before you read this book think about what your in the mood for.
Oh, Oh, Oh, guess what?!
A second book just came out and its called Losing Hope.
This is Holder's story of how things happened for him. Awesome book and needless to say, it's going to be my next book review.
Buy it:
