Did you guys know we are only 1 month away from Thanksgiving?
Thanksgiving was never a big deal in my house mostly because in Brazil we didnt celebrate thanksgiving or ever even heard of it.
The first time I heard of Thanksgiving was in 2000 when I came here from Brazil, my church has a tradition to go camping every Thanksgiving so for the past 11 years the only time I've had a big thanksgiving dinner was in 2008 and it was also the only time I did not go to camp.
These are just some pictures from my past thanksgivings
Thanksgiving 2009:
With the hubbies family
My family {horrible picture but the only one we had of us}
My gorgeous sisters & my amazing dad
Thanksgiving 2007
This year I wont be going camping and my plan was to make a big traditional dinner and start traditions of my own with the hubby but I also wanted my place to be ready so we could invite friends over, since I see thats not going to happen and I dont even have a table yet I'm feeling a little discouraged.
So I hope these beautiful thanksgiving ideas will cheer me up a bit, and maybe you too if your feeling like this thanksgiving just wont be the same!
I love how they did a modern mix to the traditional thanksgiving dinner!
Thanksgiving dessert buffet
And we cant forget the turkey!
There is just so much to be thankful for, just the fact that I have a roof over my head while millions dont or that I have the option of making a big thanksgiving dinner is definately something to be thankful for!
Happy Tuesday!
I can't get over how cute those little Oreo turkeys are!! These pictures make me want to do a big feast... Last year B was less than 2 months old so we ordered our food from Target (it was actually really good) and had a little celebration just the 3 of us. I'm looking forward to the "works" this year at my mom and dad's :)

I'm like you, I want everything to be decorated and pretty and "perfect", but the thing is, family doesn't care. They'd be happy to sit on the floor with the plates in their laps. :o) So I say, plan away and if everything isn't exactly the way you see it in your head, just enjoy that it's one less thing to clean up and put away and enjoy the company! :o)
ReplyDeleteI am very excited for Thanksgiving. It's my favorite holiday...Christmas is a close 2nd. I love the apple centerpiece in the first picture.
